The Courage & Renewal movement spans the United States and has recently crossed the Pacific Ocean, with C&R retreats happening in Australia and Korea. What Parker Palmer and Fetzer Institute began in 1997 , now is led by over 150 nationally prepared facilitators.

An increasing amount of research has been conducted which consistently identifies the outcomes and impact of Courage to Lead / Courage To Teach retreat series. A few of the studies are available as pdf’s.

Washington Courage & Renewal is one of the three affiliate organizations offering Courage & Renewal retreat programs in the United States. Courage & Renewal North Texas is a non-profit, located in Fort Worth, Texas. Courage & Renewal Northeast is associated with Wellesley College, located in Boston, covering the Northeast section of the country. These three C&R organizations, along with the national Center for Courage & Renewal, sponsor the majority of the courage & renewal retreats, all based on the work of Parker J. Palmer.
